Zhihao Ma, the Secretary General of CDUT Model United Nations Association, declared the opening of the 3rd CDUT Model United Nations Conference on Saturday morning. More than 160 delegates attended the opening ceremony, representing more than countries.
Then Zhihao Ma welcomed all the delegates who attended this conference and made a short speech. He introduced the history and development of MUN, and stressed on the new issues of the new era and the Belt and Road Initiative at the same time. Through the conference, the youth can form an international horizon as well as the capability of creative thinking, critical thinking, and active learning.
In his opening speech, Ma outlined the achievements of the last two years and expressed our priorities for this term: opening a new version in the new epoch of globalization.
The conference established 3 committees with 3 parallel sessions. One of the committees, the United Nations Environment Programme, took “Reducing Air and Water Pollution” as main topic in one of parallel sessions. 60 delegates from different countries attended this parallel session and more detail schedules were expected to be made during the conference.
After opening ceremony, delegates took a group photo by MPC members at the Qiuzhen Square of CDUT.
